Bank Support Worker - Worcester/Droitwich/Kidderminster

Where will I work?
You will be working in either the Kidderminster or Worcester/Droitwich area supporting people moving into their own shared properties that have been newly purchased as Turning Point develops new supported living options for people with a learning disability in Worcestershire. This is an exciting opportunity to support people with a range of health and behavioural needs through the transition of moving into their own home from either residential support or specialist schools or colleges. The properties acquired are good quality ordinary houses in the community and will support people to have choice and control over their lives.
What will I be doing?
This is a hands-on job in which no two days are the same. Your role will include:
Promoting the independence of people you will be supporting
Enabling the people you support to maintain their home and cook their own meals
Supporting people to maintain and improve all aspects of their wellbeing including becoming involved in and accessing everyday community activities
Enabling people to achieve maximum independence over their personal care, medication and manual handling if required
What skills and qualities do I need to have?
While some knowledge of learning disabilities and complex needs would be beneficial, it isn't essential. You will be:
Passionate and enthusiastic
Flexible, patient and non-judgemental
Able to demonstrate good IT and communication skills
Able to complete the physical aspects of the role such as manual handling

Shift Patterns: Early 7am-3pm or 8am-4pm/ Mid 9am-5pm or 11am-7pm/ Late 1pm-9pm/ Late sleep 4pm-10pm sleep 7am-8.30am
