Working Hours- 37.5 hours per week Mon - Friday between 8am and 6pm.

Job Scope:

The Kingston bank covers all staff groups including doctors. The bank was previously run in-house, and has been outsourced to Bank Partners to reduce overall costs including cost of agencies and to introduce a range of service efficiencies. The entire service is operated from Kingston hospital and consists of a bookings team and a recruitment and payroll function.

The Bank Business Partner plays a key role in this service delivery as the individual responsible for one or more Boards will be on the front line of the service, dealing on a daily basis with service users and senior managers to identify and coordinate any initiatives to maximise bank fill rates and customer service - through bookings practices, recruitment, planning, reviewing skills etc.

Key Tasks:

  • Uphold the values and standards of the organisation at all times
  • Develops effective relationships with key stakeholders within the business
  • Interfacing with NHS Trust staff, Managers and Coordinators, establishing productive relationships with these key client contacts
  • Circulating information on changes to process, promoting any changes to service, seasonal information etc
  • Facilitating the flow of information between Trust wards and departments and Staff Bank Bookings and Recruitment Teams
  • Meet the SLA fill rates by actively working with the Contract Manager, the Bookings Team Leader and the Recruitment Team Leader
  • Work with the Contract Manager and the Bookings Team Leader to analyse weekly and monthly reports and produce on-going strategies to increase bank fill rates
  • Ongoing review of past fill rate patterns and future bookings by board, division or ward
  • Identification of any wards falling below the required fill rate or efficiency standards
  • Meeting regularly with ward sisters / ward key contacts to review and plan and identify any actions required - meeting notes shared via email after every meeting
  • Generating substantive candidates to be recruited
  • Receiving and coordinating incidents and complaints, following set processes and recording on Datix
  • Ensuring all received complaints are acknowledged within 24 hrs, investigated, resolved and responded to within 5 working days unless Trust internal investigations state otherwise. (Dealt with personally or ensuring staff member responsible has appropriate time set aside to complete work to company standards
  • Identifies challenges and opportunities to current business and works with Contract Manager to respond to them effectively, ensuring you are aware of client sensitivities, events which will affect the Trust Temporary Staffing requirements i.e. planned Trust initiatives, Trust long term sickness/ Trust Maternity leave, working in a planned way with Bookings Team Leader and Contract Manager to protect and maximise Trust fill rates
  • Ensuring smooth transition of information both in a bottom-up method to the Contract Manager of the business and a top-down manner to the staff of the team
  • Identifying service user issues or improvement opportunities and pro-actively applying solutions
  • Production of management information and analysis as and when required
  • Cover for Bookings Team Leader and Contract Manager in their absence
  • Highlight opportunities for improvements to the Contract Manager
  • Preparation of reports and meeting information, attending meetings as required
  • Managing and resolving ward service issues
  • Attending daily bed managers meetings
  • Support on continuous improvement initiatives
  • Support and management of projects
  • Responsible for ensuring a professional service is provided to candidates
  • Participate in the continuous maintenance, development and improvement of the Company’s quality system in order to ensure the client’s requirements are met or exceeded
  • Production of management information and analysis as and when required
  • Ensure all databases are managed effectively to allow bookings team to place appropriate staff to work
  • Any other relevant duties as required by your line manager
