Matron - Heart Centre

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated individual, with proven managerial experience, to join the Specialised Division as Matron for the Heart Centre Directorate.

The University Hospitals of North Midlands is a large, acute hospital in the West Midlands and offers a broad range of medical and surgical specialties. We have excellent transport links, being close to the M6 and A50, and lie roughly centrally between Manchester and Birmingham to the North and South, and Derby and Shrewsbury to the East and West

The Heart Centre is a dynamic unit that provides tertiary cardiology and cardiac surgery services for over 2 million people across Staffordshire, Shropshire, Derbyshire and South Cheshire, as well secondary care cardiology for the local population.

The Directorate is complex in nature and is made up of:

      • 46 Consultants
      • Specialist Nurse Team
      • Nursing workforce of >300
      • >110 dedicated Heart Centre Beds
      • 3 dedicated Theatres
      • 16 bedded Critical Care Unit

Working alongside the Directorate Manager and Clinical Director, you will provide a highly visible and supportive presence inspiring the professional development of nursing whilst ensuring the delivery of high quality, safe patient care across all areas within the Directorate.

This exciting role will support the development of your existing skills enhancing your leadership, professional & people management within the clinical environment. As a role model you will influence and contribute to the development of nursing across the division and Trust.
