An exciting opportunity has arisen at NHS Somerset Clinical Commissioning Group (Somerset CCG) for a Band 8a Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) Service Manager.

With strong leadership and interpersonal skills, you will be responsible for the development and delivery of strategies which improve the quality of infection prevention and control across the health economy. You will also work strategically across the health system to ensure compliance with national and local initiatives, to promote high quality clinical care; and ensure the safety of staff, patients, relatives and healthcare workers.

The role requires an individual with excellent communication skills to build relationships with external partners and to develop integrated working. The applicant will need to demonstrate experience of applying quality improvement methodologies and also be able to implement system change as we move towards an Integrated Care System (ICS).

The successful applicant will be an experienced, registered nurse currently working at a senior level in a specialist area of Infection Prevention and Control.

You will also be educated to; or working towards, a Masters’ level qualification or equivalent.

This post is based at NHS Somerset CCG HQ - Wynford House, Lufton Way, Yeovil, Somerset, BA22 8HR. However, elements of the role may require you to travel to other locations across the county of Somerset to meet the needs of the service.

At present, all Somerset CCG staff are working from home due to the current Covid-19 pandemic.
