Band 7 Occupational Therapist - Adults Mental Health
Deliver a clinical service to a varied client group, using a range of skills and knowledge in assessment and intervention methods within a coherent framework
Work closely with on site Occupational Therapists, Therapy Coordinators and alongside a multidisciplinary team to provide quality assessments and interventions within the Model of Human Occupation and according to the Valuing People principles
Run group and individual interventions aimed at developing daily living skills, life skills and managing challenging behaviour through sensory integration-based techniques and strategies
Participate in the planning, development and evaluation of the Occupational Therapy service within the site.
THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE:
o A degree / postgraduate diploma (or equivalent) in Occupational Therapy, registration with the Health Care Professions Council (HCPC) and a member of the Royal College of Occupational Therapy (RCOT)
o Are currently operating as a Specialist (Band 6) or Highly Specialist (Band 7) Occupational Therapist
o Experience with an adult mental health or personality disorder client group is preferred
o The ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
o An understanding of Occupational Therapy process/interventions
o A good understanding of core Occupational Therapy skills and the motivation to keep up-to-date with current best practice in OT
o Excellent communication / time management skills
