South Gloucestershire is a semi rural area just north of Bristol, with Recovery Team bases in Thornbury and at Kingswood Civic Centre. The post holder will work as a member of the multidisciplinary Psychological Therapies Team (PTS), based at Kingswood Civic Centre. The PTS receives approximately two hundred referrals per year from other locality teams. The team is well established and supportive with good relationships with the other teams in the area.
The post holder may be required to work in other locations within the locality including the homes of service users.
The PTS offers a range of therapies for adults with complex mental health difficulties and the post holder will work within the CBT workstream. Additionally the post holder will apply their psychological knowledge and skills in a variety of ways within PTS and the wider service (e.g. through consultation, training, supervision, etc). The role would also involve liaison with other parts of the service.
We are looking for somebody with excellent communication and engagement skills, who can work autonomously whilst enjoying being an integrated member of the PTS and locality teams. The post-holder will be able to demonstrate a highly specialist level of CBT competencies and commitment to this model of working. The candidate must be BABCP accredited or meet the knowledge and skills criteria for accreditation.
We are looking for a qualified Clinical Psychologist or other suitably qualified professional with HCPC registration or equivalent.
We are looking for an individual with excellent knowledge and skills of using CBT with complex mental health difficulties and who can demonstrate commitment to this model of working.
The candidate must be BABCP accredited or meet the knowledge and skills criteria for accreditation.
We would be particularly interested in applications from candidates who have additional skills, in particular skills in using EMDR.
South Gloucestershire PTS is an established and supportive service with excellent relationships across teams. The post holder will have access to specialist supervision and career development via the appraisal process.
