An exciting opportunity has arisen for a CT or MRI Trained Radiographer to join the Cross-Sectional Imaging team here at ELHT.

This is a fantastic opportunity for Radiographers to broaden their skills and enhance their career in Cross Sectional Imaging. We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated Radiographer to join our team at East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust.

The successful applicant will be a keen team player who has image quality and patient care high on their agenda. Candidates should have a flexible approach to their working hours as this contract will be flexible across 7 day working. The department is set over 2 sites, Blackburn Royal and Burnley General and currently consists of 4 CT Scanners and 3 MRI Scanners. 128 slice Siemens definition AS 80 slice Canon Aquilion Lightning SP 2 x 80 slice Toshiba Aquilion Prime CT Scanners Philips Intera 1.5T MRI Scanner Siemens Aera 1.5T wide bore MRI Scanner Siemens Magnatom Symphony 1.5T MRI Scanner.

This is a very exciting time to join the cross sectional imaging team at ELHT as we have the current installation of a new dedicated MRI unit based at Burnley hospital opening September 2020. This will hold two new state of the art Canon Vantage Orian 1.5T wide bore MRI scanners with an adjoined MRI control room.

The post holder will be expected to rotate across all the MRI and/or CT departments to support service and professional development. This is a forward thinking Radiology department that supports Radiographer advanced practice, we have 2 CT Head Reporting Radiographers, 1 MRI Reporting Radiographer and 5 trained CT Colonography Radiographers with plans in place to increase these numbers of advanced practitioners.

Band 6 posts require proven experience of MRI and/or CT procedures and a high level of MRI and/or CT scanning knowledge. You should have evidence of current ongoing CPD activities incorporating current advances in both CT and/or MRI. You will have demonstrated the skills necessary to work as part of a small multidisciplinary team and have the ability to take the lead in the absence of Senior Colleagues.
