Improving Access to Psychological Therapies Service (IAPT) – Primary Care
Salary: Band 6 - £31,365 - £37,890 pa pro rata (dependent on experience)

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a major national initiative and innovative service providing psychological therapies in the NHS in England. You will be working with people who have common mental health problems in the Sheffield IAPT Service alongside other team members where you will provide counselling therapies as part of the ‘Stepped Care Model’ in Primary Care.
You will be a BACP Accredited Counsellor, have NCS Professional Accreditation or be a UKCP registered Psychotherapist (or be a Qualified and Accredited member of another equivalent Counselling and/or Psychotherapy Professional Body) and this MUST BE EVIDENCED CLEARLY ON YOUR APPLICATION FORM. As a Counsellor/Psychotherapist with experience of providing counselling in GP Practices, you will have knowledge of the IAPT Counselling Competences Framework and the NICE guidelines for anxiety, depression and common mental health problems. You will need to evidence a depth of experience of working in a caring profession and an ability to work as part of a team with colleagues from a range of professional backgrounds. Preferably, you will have one of the IAPT/NICE guideline recommended competency based trainings (Counselling for Depression, Couples Therapy for Depression, Dynamic Interpersonal Therapy, Interpersonal Therapy) or be willing to train in one or more of these modalities.
