Working in our five specialist cath labs at Hammersmith Hospital in Acton, you will be part of a multidisciplinary team with expertise in diagnostic and interventional cardiology including primary angioplasty, trans-catheter aortic valve implantation and complex electrophysiology.

This is the perfect department if you enjoy working in a dynamic, fast paced environment. The Cardiac Day Ward has nine day case beds, six radial chairs and up to twenty elective patients coming through our doors each day. We also accommodate a very busy non-elective and emergency service.

Your career goals are important to us and we believe in supporting our staff to develop the career that is right for them. Continuing education (supported by our clinical education team) and professional development are strongly encouraged, with opportunities available to you throughout your career.

Our team members have an excellent track record for career progression, whether it is into different or more senior nursing roles or into service or business management. We offer strong support networks for preceptorship, mentorship and professional development to ensure you get the very best from your career with us. We support personal development through post-graduate cardiac courses, along with access to specialist conferences and participation in research

Cath lab experience is not essential, but we would expect you to be able to work on your own initiative under pressure and demonstrate excellent communication skills, a positive outlook, enthusiasm and the ability to learn.

We also have a very supportive environment for overseas nurses who are joining the NHS for the first time. We offer a range of flexible working options including full-time or part-time roles.
