Albert ward is a 28 bedded surgical downstream ward which facilitates patient flow through emergency pathways within the division enabling acute capacity. Our diverse patients group consist of Vascular, Neuro, Surgical, Trauma and Orthopaedic patients. We have a very supportive multi-disciplinary team, working collaboratively to provide safe, effective and harm free care to our patients. Proud to announce Albert ward won the Trust Bi-Monthly Make a Difference award for August/September 2019. Albert ward was also selected as one of the four finalists in this year’s Make a Difference, Team of the Year category. Our Quality Improvement project on falls prevention through bay tagging and use of falls prevention lanyards, won St Mary’s Hospital people’s choice award during the World Health Organisation Patient Safety Day in 2019.

The Health Care Support Worker plays a significant role within the Trauma Directorate and it is essential to the service with the responsibility of providing quality care to patients.
