Backend PHP Developer - West Yorkshire

Backend PHP Developer is required for a market leading innovative technology company, you will be working with some of the biggest retailers such as Nike, Superdry and Ann Summers.

Due to extensive growth, this leading technology company is looking for a Backend PHP Developer to work within the team to create innovative technology for retailers to use on the shop floor. This covers a range of activities with the core activity being price labelling but is fast expending into other areas of retail operations such as stock management.

The Backend PHP Developer will be required to have these essential skills:

  • 3 years commercial experience in CakePHP or similar MVC PHP framework
  • PHP certified or have similar level of experience
  • Embraced practices like Test Driven Development
  • We develop in Windows but deploy in Linux, working knowledge of both systems is essential

About the Role:

  • You will be working as part of a growing development team to maintain and create customer projects based on the CakePHP Framework
  • These projects are based around processing large volumes of data in overnight batches, and exposing this data via REST APIs to client devices
  • The role is almost entirely backend, so no design or frontend skills are needed
  • You will also need to be able to support junior members of the team in their learning and development
