Private day nursery is looking for a baby room leader, offering a competitive annual salary
Your new company
This is an early years job where you will be working in a small family-run nursery, that has a unique large wooded area and committed to providing excellent care and education for children aged three months to five years. The setting has recently received an Ofsted 'Outstanding' rating which the staff are committed to maintain. The nursery is set in a converted Victorian house with a large outdoor space with local woods where the children are taken for walks regularly. The nursery encourages outdoor learning and forest school and has an allotment and pets which the children are encouraged to care for. There are nursery pets where the children are encouraged to care for.
Your new role
The position is for a practitioner position in the baby room, which can place up to 20 babies. The room provides a homely and calm environment, with various opportunities for developing and learning their language and physical skills through music, baby yoga with a wide range of sensory materials. Your responsibility as the baby room leader is to ensure the environment is kept safe and the room is in ratio, and you are supporting your team in the room. You will be overseeing the room ensuring each child is given outstanding child care from their key person.
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful for the role you must be a minimum of level 3 qualified in childcare and have experience in caring for children in an early years setting. Having previous experience as a baby room lead is desirable, however not essential for the right person. It is essential that you have a genuine passion for working with children and are able to work well in a team, as well as having an outstanding understanding of EYFS. It is desirable that you are paediatric first trained although the nursery can provide this
