Location: Manchester & you will be expected to travel to Bournemouth for classroom training (approx. once a month)

Salary: Year 1: £9,000
Year 2: £10,500

Start date: Autumn 2018

Car Technicians carry out a range of services and repairs to vehicles. It’s a job that calls for a unique combination of technical, retail and customer service skills.

Over the two year Apprenticeship, you’ll learn all you need to get going, working to an 'Auto-care Technician’ Level 2 qualification. Many apprentices from the scheme go on to join the AA in a permanent position.

This is the job

In a fast-moving car industry, you won't be bored. You’ll take six months for distance learning, and also spend six months on 'block release’ on site at the Bournemouth training academy.

The time you spend away from home will be expenses paid, we’ll pay for your hotel, travel and meals while you’re there. Although you will have a strict budget to work to.

A Personal Tutor will visit monthly to assess your progress and help you along. Support will also be on hand from an AA peer mentor and an Early Careers Business Partner.

What do I need?

You’ll be keen to learn and be a focussed methodical person, you don’t need any automotive experience as we’ll train you in that.

As a minimum requirement you’ll need:

  • A full driving license
  • To be eligible to work in the UK
  • A strong desire to pursue a career in automotive mechanical engineering
