As an Automation Test Engineer, you will work within a predominantly Agile/Scrum environment to contribute to the delivery of high quality systems and products developed by Newcastle Strategic Solutions. You will be tasked with leading the development and delivery of testing activities within an iterative Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), delivering value to clients and end users of Newcastle Strategic Solutions systems.
Working as part of the wider IT Development team, you will analyse, plan and co-ordinate testing activities, using a range of techniques to meet deliverables. With an emphasis on high quality, the purpose of the role is to design, build, test and deploy effective test automation solutions.
As an experienced Tester, you will apply appropriate automation technologies to meet short, medium and long-term business objectives, whilst being an advocate for driving automated testing efforts across the team.
We’re looking for a knowledgeable Automation Test Engineer, with a passion for delivering high quality software, alongside a positive approach to continuous improvement. You will possess the ability to challenge effectively and constructively, whilst acting as a champion to the automation of testing (and wider activities).
As an experienced Automated Tester, you will have a strong knowledge of automation testing techniques and methodologies, alongside a good understanding of automated testing tools (Selenium, Specflow etc). You will have sound knowledge of agile project methodologies (Scrum, Kanban or XP etc) and have a focus on attention to detail. Experience of TDD/BDD would be beneficial.
