Auto Electrician

MPI have a requirement for an Auto Electrician to work in the Walsall

Contract is to start ASAP for approx 13 weeks minimum with the possibility that it may lead to a permanent position for the right candidate.
All candidates must have 12 volts auto electrician experience.
Pay rate: £13.00 per hour PAYE
The role is subject to clearance

Main purpose of Role

Fit, repair, install and integrate enhanced electrical and electronic systems in motor vehicles. Design and develop electrical solutions for vehicles. Fault finding and rectification.

Key Objectives / Accountability

  • Read and interpret electrical wiring plans and diagrams
  • Design electrical circuits and wiring diagrams.
  • Modify electrical circuits, assess cable sizes and AMP capacity
  • Vehicle Preparation and fitting of the electronics equipment
  • Checking and testing of the wiring and vehicle parts
  • Fault finding and rectification work
  • Loom building
  • Crimping skills including coaxial connectors

Measures

  • Quality, HS&E compliance and external and internal audit findings
  • Full compliance with stated processes and work instructions
  • Quality Targets are met
  • Consistently meets build targets and deadlines

Person Specification

Experience:

Previous experience of installation, repair and maintenance of electrical systems in vehicles, including integration into vehicle OEM wiring systems

  • Competence with diagnostic tools and basic programming software
  • Checking and testing of the wiring and vehicle parts
  • Knowledge and experience of electronic and electrical systems
  • Experience of working with electric windows, mirrors, seats, tow bar electrics and air-conditioning desirable
  • Customised LED or neon lighting kits, parking warning systems and reverse cameras desirable
  • Knowledge of Quality & Environmental Standards

Skills/Knowledge/Competencies:

Ability to build looms advantageous

Ability to strip and reassemble vehicles would be desirable

Knowledge of split charge systems desirable

Knowledge of radio installation would be desirable

Knowledge of modern electrical technology e.g. Canbus interfacing desirable

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Ability to develop and maintain good internal relationships

Ability to act as a credible representative of the company to external parties

Ability to work effectively as part of a team to achieve desired results

Experience of working in an automotive / engineering environment is desirable

Knowledge of low voltage electrical systems essential

Knowledge of 230V system desirable but not essential

Qualifications

Educated to HNC/ HND standard or equivalent desirable

17th Edition Electrical Certificate desirable

Demonstrable experience would be considered

Other:

Work in compliance with established Company policies and procedures

Carry out any other reasonable requests as and when necessary to meet the varying demands of the business and satisfy customer needs.

Have or be willing to obtain the relevant level of security clearance and maintain the relevant level of clearance throughout your employment. Security clearance is a mandatory requirement for your role, failure to maintain will result in disciplinary action and potential dismissal.
