Autism Teaching Assistant - South Yorkshire - Long term, temporary position - Starting ASAP
Your new company
Hays Education UK is a nationally recognised recruitment company, providing an individual and tailored service to clients within the Education sector. Working within the South Yorkshire area, we have extensive and long-standing relationships with SEND schools and Pupil Referral Units who trust us to provide them the best candidates we can find - you!
Your new role
We are currently looking for TA's who specialise in working with students who have Autism Spectrum Disorder to work in a range of specialised and focused schools. You will provide 1:1 support to students across a wide age range helping to ensure their well-being, and aid and supplement their education. You will assist classroom teachers in their role in ensuring the highest standard of education and care for your students, as well as supporting them in other duties.
Your primary responsibility throughout all these roles is to put the pupils well-being at the forefront of all you do, enabling them to lead independent and confident lives throughout their time in education and beyond.
What you'll need to succeed
You will have a minimum of 40 days previous experience (within the last 2 years) working with SEND students aged 3-25; ideally within a SEND setting. It would be useful for you to be Studio 3 trained but this isn't essential. You will have a strong track record of providing compassionate and supportive care to students, whilst ensuring that educational expectations are met. You will be friendly and empathetic whilst maintaining a professional standard of working.
What you'll get in return
The opportunity to work in a variety of SEND settings where no two days will be the same. You will work alongside supportive Senior Leadership Teams and school staff. The benefits and flexibility of temporary work will provide you with a unique skill set which is transferable in many settings. Hays Education also offer a £250 'Refer a Friend' scheme, so if you have any friends or family who are looking for their next role within education, please give them our details. *T&C's apply
