EXPERIENCE AUTISM TEACHING ASSISTANT SEARCHING FOR A NEW CHALLENGE?
Prospero Teaching is looking for an Autism Teaching Assistant for a pupil in a school based in Portsmouth. This SEND Teaching Assistant job will start as soon as possible, with a handover period for extra training if required.
About the Autism Teaching Assistant position:
Immediate start, full-time position likely to continue after summer holidays for the ideal Teaching Assistant.
1:1 support with male pupil with severe Autism.
Maintaining pupils participation in class tasks and group projects.
Keeping calm while promoting a fun learning environment for the individual.
Supporting the class teachers by adapting the lesson plan for the individual.
The Successful Autism Teaching Assistant will have/be:
Calming mannerisms in challenging situations.
Strong behaviour management skills while creating a fun learning environment.
Driven to motivate the pupil and increase his participation.
The ability to grow individual personal development.
Be caring, patient and have good communication skills.
Be self-reflective, have a willingness to learn and demonstrate initiative.
To be Eligible the Autism Teaching Assistant must have/be:
Experience supporting an individual with Autism.
Provide two professional references that cover the last two years of employment.
Willing to complete Safeguarding online training.
Eligible to live and work in the UK.
An enhanced DBS certificate that is registered with the Update Service, or be willing to complete one.
Complete a face-to-face registration with our Southampton office.
