Academics Ltd. is excited to offer a specialist opportunity for a Teaching Assistant with expertise in autism support to join a welcoming secondary school in Swindon. We are looking for a motivated and compassionate Autism Support Specialist TA to provide tailored autism support, ensuring students can access and engage with their learning effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the class teacher to provide autism support in a structured and inclusive environment.
  • Provide one-on-one and small group autism support, using tailored strategies to meet individual needs.
  • Assist students in managing sensory needs, social interactions, and classroom engagement.
  • Adapt lesson content and teaching methods to provide effective autism support and enhance learning.
  • Promote a positive and supportive atmosphere that fosters confidence and independence.
  • Collaborate with SENCOs, teachers, and parents to ensure holistic autism support for students.

What We're Looking For:

  • Strong understanding of autism support strategies and approaches.
  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to build trusting relationships with students.
  • Excellent communication and adaptability in a dynamic classroom setting.
  • A passion for creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
  • Experience in autism support within educational settings (preferred but not essential).
