Tradewind are currently looking for an experienced and SEN TA to work with primary pupils who have Autism. It would be desirable if you have experience with PECS and Makaton but this is not essential.

This is an excellent opportunity to work in a new purpose-built ASC school that is looking to increase in its student population over time. You will be working with non-verbal ASC pupils who have additional complex needs. As such experience with Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) techniques are preferred but not essential.

The role is a full time, long term position starting ASAP and continuing for the rest of the academic year, with the potential to become a permanent position for the right Teaching Assistant. As an ASC TA, you will be working with pupils who have Autism and a wide variety of SEN needs. You will be working with EYFS, KS1 and KS2. Please be aware that due to the nature of the pupils you will be working with some very challenging behaviour. You will be able to work independently and use your initiative to support the teacher in delivering engaging lessons and work in small groups with some learners. You will have a positive approach to teaching and learning, with strong ASC experience and a proactive attitude. This is a fantastic and well-resourced school that has an excellent reputation throughout the borough.

ASC - Autism specialist TA must have:
*A flexible and creative approach to teaching children with a range of SEN requirements.
*Experience of working with children with SEN and an interest of working with students who special educational needs.
*Preferred but not required: PECS, Makaton, ABA
