AUDIT & RISK MANAGER

Our multi-jurisdictional Financial Services client is currently looking for an Audit & Risk Manager to be based at their headquarters in the UK for an exciting permanent position. JOB

The role of Audit & Risk Manager will give you the opportunity to be involved with the following:

  • Supporting the Head of ERM to ensure a robust & holistic Risk Management framework is implemented & maintained by the Group & across all its subsidiaries
  • Assisting in the development & maintenance of Group policies & ensuring these are rolled out to all Group subsidiaries for local implementation
  • Assisting with the collation, analysis & reporting of risk information from across the Group to the Group Audit & Risk Committee to identify key risks & trends, anticipate new risks, ensuring mitigating actions are in place
  • Setting the scope of internal audit work in adherence to audit methodology & procedures, using a risk-based decision as to which areas should be included in the audit plan & frequency, subject to approval by the Group Audit & Risk Committee
  • Assessing the processes followed by the Group operating entities’ first & second lines of defence, their adequacy & effectiveness & the quality of their work
  • Assessing the design & operating effectiveness of the internal governance structures & processes
  • Assessing the information presented to the Board & Executive Management for strategic & operational decision making
  • Assessing the risk & control culture of the Group: whether the processes, actions, 'tone from the top’ & observed behaviours across the Group are in line with the espoused values, ethics, risk appetite & policies of the Group
  • Assessing risks of poor customer treatment, giving rise to conduct or reputational risk: whether the design & control of products, services & supporting processes are in line with customer interests & conduct regulation
  • Assessing the management of financial risks, including capital & liquidity modelling & management
  • Assessing the suitability of processes followed for key corporate events: to include significant business process changes, introduction of new products & services, outsourcing decisions & acquisitions/divestments
  • Assessing the design & operating effectiveness of the Group entities’ policies, controls & processes & their adherence to all relevant laws & regulations
  • Reporting to appropriate governing bodies, including Group Board Audit & Risk Committee
  • Maintaining an open, constructive & co-operative relationship with regulators

YOU

As Audit & Risk Manager you will be skilled &/or Qualified in the following:

  • Technical Expertise in Corporate Governance, Financial Audit & Accounting, Risk Management, Fraud Prevention & Detection & Internal Auditing
  • Certified A Certified Internal Auditor with a relevant qualification e.g Degree, HND
  • Ideally you will be a member of relevant body e.g CIA, ACCA, CGAP, CCSA, CFSA, CRMA
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to liaise with a wide variety of stakeholders
  • Strong persuader & collaborator
  • Critical & analytical thinker
  • Resilient
  • Strong ethical standards & high levels of integrity
  • Naturally inquisitive
