Cassons are looking to appoint two Audit & Accounts Seniors to join their Haslingden office as they continue to grow their client base.
Cassons have been established for over eighty years and work with clients based across the North West and further afield, including clients who have overseas operations and some with overseas parents companies. The firm doesn't just deal with their client's compliance but also take the time to understand their client's business and sector, understanding all of the opportunities and issues facing their business and to ensure they can assist them with any commercial decisions they need to take.
Your new job
As an Audit & Accounts Senior you will be responsible for conducting audit assignments and preparing statutory accounts.
As a senior you will report directly to the partner or manager as required and be responsible for leading the audit assignments and managing the budget. Your day to day duties will include planning the audit assignments, assisting, overseeing and reviewing the completion of fieldwork by junior staff, documenting audit tests and findings and completing the audit file for partner review. As the Audit Senior you will take a proactive role with your clients; liaising, contacting and meeting with clients prior to and during the assignment and developing the client relationship.
You will also be responsible for preparing year end financial statements and providing commentary on your findings and recommendations to the client. You will gain exposure to a broad range of clients varying in size and complexity, with turnovers ranging up to in excess of £100 million. Many of our clients fall into the categories of manufacturing, leisure, retail and distribution. We also audit other entities such as regulated professional firms, pension schemes and charities.
What you'll need to succeed
The firm are looking to appoint a qualified Chartered / Certified Accountant or a QBE Accountant who has proven solid knowledge of completing both audit and accounting assignments within a general practice environment. You must be a client focused individual who possesses advisory skills with a forward thinking mind-set. You must have good teamwork skills, with the ability to work well as part of a team but also effectively lead from the front when out on assignment.
