Associate / Senior Associate – IP, Data & Contracts

Location: Edinburgh

Job Type: Full-time

Reed are currently working with a market leading Legal firm who are looking to recruit an Associate or Senior Associate to join their IP, Data & Contracts (IPDC) team in Edinburgh. This role offers a diverse and challenging workload in a supportive environment, ideal for a candidate with a proactive and positive attitude.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Provide comprehensive IP, commercial contract, and data protection advice to our entrepreneurial client base.
  • Handle e-commerce, data protection, IP advisory, and commercialisation matters.
  • Draft and report on contracts across a variety of sectors.
  • Work independently, managing direct client interactions with senior support available as needed.
  • Collaborate as part of the IPDC team, taking responsibility for key tasks and contributing to team objectives.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Ideally 4+ years PQE, ideally within IP, technology, data protection, or commercial contracts but all levels of PQE will be considered
  • Excellent communication skills and a confident, positive attitude.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Proven capability in handling complex legal matters related to IP, data protection, and commercial contracts.
  • Experience in client management and direct client interaction.
