A leading law firm with a strong reputation in the commercial real estate sector is seeking a talented and experienced Associate to join their dynamic team in Exeter. This is an excellent opportunity for a legal professional with a background in commercial real estate who is eager to advance their career.

We are seeking an ambitious and detail-oriented Associate to join our clients Corporate Real Estate team in Exeter, specifically within the Retail, Leisure, Logistics & Occupiers sectors. This role is pivotal in providing commercial property support to the busy property department, focusing on landlord and tenant work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality legal advice across a broad range of commercial property matters with a strong focus on landlord and tenant issues.
  • Take responsibility for managing your own case-load, while assisting senior team members with complex transactions.
  • Support marketing efforts by contributing to literature, writing reports, and seeking networking opportunities.
  • Achieve budgeted hours and fees, ensuring financial goals are met.
  • Participate in short-term secondments with clients if required, building and maintaining strong client relationships.
  • Conduct thorough legal research and stay up to date with relevant legal developments and government policies.
  • Embrace and contribute to the firm’s commitment to exceptional client service.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Technical Skills: Strong legal drafting skills with the ability to provide clear, concise, and commercially relevant advice. Proficiency in digital dictation, electronic time recording, and case management systems.
  • Personal Qualities: A team player with high levels of commitment, initiative, and flexibility. You should be results-oriented with a proven track record in business development and achieving financial goals.
  • Organisational Skills: Excellent organizational and project management abilities, with a keen attention to detail and a commercial approach to problem-solving.
  • Communication: Strong negotiation and communication skills, capable of establishing and maintaining professional relationships with clients and colleagues.
