Opportunity

The Property Fund Finance team is responsible for the financial operations of over £20bn of property funds managed by M&G Real Estate.  This role involves providing financial control and oversight services to one Luxembourg-domiciled real estate fund, and assisting with additional funds supported by the team.


Key responsibilities:

Reporting into the Team Leader: Luxembourg Institutional Funds, the applicant will be responsible for providing financial control and oversight services to the following Luxembourg-domiciled institutional real estate fund:

M&G European Secured Property Income Fund (NAV €173m; committed capital €224m)

This will include:-
• First review of monthly reporting packs, final NAV, subscription and redemption prices, distributions and associated documents including TER and REER calculations
• Preparation of performance files
• First analytical review of fund annual financial statements prepared under IFRS
• First review of subsidiary financial statements prepared under local GAAPs
• Production of audit information; liaison with auditors to resolve queries
• Review of corporation tax and VAT calculations: sense-check and vouch to accounting data
• Preparation of intercompany loan / PPL control schedules
• Preparation of inputs to investor reports and board reporting
• Assistance with responding to investor queries
• Preparation of AIFMD reporting
• Preparation of INREV SDDS reporting
• Preparation of INREV fee metrics
• Coordination of preparation of annual subsidiary budgets; first review of budgets
• Preparation of consolidated fund budget
• Preparation of fund cash flow forecasts and monitor cash transfers
• Monitoring forward funding development cash flows
• Liaison with external accounting suppliers to ensure instructions are appropriate, clear and followed
• Assisting in preparation of accounting memos for complex transactions
• Attendance at relationship meetings with service providers
• Assist in preparation of information required by the tax team to ensure fund tax compliance
• Oversight of fiscal and loan compliance across the Fund
• Provision of information to support consolidation reporting to Prudential Group
• Attendance at weekly/monthly fund meetings

General
• Provision of cover to Fund Controller and other team members
• Assistance with ad-hoc projects covering various elements of the work of the Property Fund Finance team

Key skills

• ACA/ACCA/CIMA part-qualified accountant (or equivalent), or AAT qualified
• Property financial accounting experience
• Self-motivated with a diligent and detailed approach to completing tasks
• Strong analytical skills. Able to understand, question and challenge a range of financial data
• Confidence to communicate effectively with a range of internal and external parties
• Strong organisational and prioritisation skills
• Flexible and proactive approach
• Excel (to advanced level is desirable)
• Knowledge of Yardi Voyager system is beneficial
• This will be a highly visible role so requires someone with an approachable personality, strong focus and first class communication skills.
