We have an exciting opportunity for an Associate Mechanical Director (Building Services) to work in an award-winning MEP consulting engineering practice with offices in the UK and the Middle East.
MainPurpose of the Job:
Reporting to the Office Director you will be required to manage / lead the mechanical building services elements of complex or highly technical projects and assist with delivery of projects within the build sectors as well as providing line management to a group of highly motivated, developing engineers. The role will be in the Manchester office, and the candidate will have a knowledge of the North West market and will be required to assist the Office Director in developing and maintaining the office in the North West.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist in developing conceptual & design solutions, oversee and verify mechanical services design calculations using Bentley Heavcomp and IES software.
Management of projects to achieve client satisfaction and profitability, identify and manage resources to achieve project requirements, financial management and reporting on profitability.
Technical and quality reviews of project information, represent the business at meetings, assist in the preparation of fee submissions and project bids.
Good communicator with a professional approach to all work, ability to build relationships with clients to secure repeat business.
Reviewing technical competency of mechanical work, design supervision and technical reviewing of projects.
Provide specialist technical advice and guidance at project and group level.
Production of mechanical services specifications and schedule, conduct feasibility studies.
Conduct initial and concept mechanical designs and review developed design. Provide technical support and work directly with clients to deliver various projects
Provide support to the Director with regard to business development within the North East.
Educated to at least Degree level in a relevant subject such as Building Services or Mechanical Engineering
Mechanical Building Services Design.
Previous experience of an engineering organisation.
Highly experienced in the production of detailed mechanical design solutions for services such as air conditioning, comfort cooling, ventilation, domestic services, above ground drainage and building physics.
Experience in undertaking project management duties
Hevacomp, IES, strong communication skills, verbal and written.
