Assistant Technical Officer

Posted 18 September by NHS Business Services Authority

Sheffield Teaching Hospitals is one of the country’s largest Trusts incorporating five acute adult hospitals providing secondary and tertiary services to patients throughout North Trent and Yorkshire. The Trust provides one million Patient episodes and procedures annually and employs approximately 17,000 members of staff.

The Respiratory Physiology Department is looking to employ a well-motivated, enthusiastic individual to join our busy but friendly department, which is based at both the Royal Hallamshire and Northern General Hospital sites. The post involves performing a wide range of respiratory tests and the investigation and treatment of sleep related breathing disorders. The department has a commitment to in-house and national training schemes and all staff are encouraged to continue with personal and professional development.

We are seeking to appoint an Assistant Technical Officer who is flexible and who can demonstrate an ability to work well both independently and as part of a team. The successful applicant must also be able to demonstrate excellent inter-personal and communication skills.

Due to the nature of this role, successful candidates will be required to complete a CRB disclosure application (police check).

This post is unlikely to attract a work permit. Applications from candidates who require a permit to work in the UK may not be considered if there are a sufficient number of other suitable candidates.
