What are they looking for?

As the ideal Assistant Quarry Manager (AQM) at their Marfield Quarry, you will be a strong team player with excellent communication skills and a desire to work and lead the team. You will have a flexible approach to work, additional hours may be required subject to business needs. The role supports the Quarry Manager in driving operational excellence and identifying and nurturing talent.

You will specifically focus on and be responsible for the smooth day to day running of site operations in line with environmental, HSE and current company standards. Be responsible for overseeing that all materials are produced and dispatched within expected budgetary constraints to meet or exceed customer expectations and requirements. You will also play a large role in driving continuous improvement on site, ensure plant process is efficient, and maximise production.

You would be expected to comply with the Safety Management System; ensuring that all site activities carried out are in line with standards and policies. You will support the culture of health and safety on site by setting a personal example, you will also ensure all contractors working on site are fully inducted.

The role will specifically focus on site safety, supervision, inspections and assisting the Quarry Manager with production, development and financial budgets.

It would be desirable if you have experience of mobile and fixed plant quarrying operations, however, full training is available so they would be really pleased to hear from you if you have no previous industry experience and can demonstrate your ability to positively contribute to a team, take pride in your work and showcase your determination to succeed.
