We are seeking an Assistant Psychologist to join our team Monday to Friday 9:00 – 17:30.

This role will be covering Broughton House in Brant Borughton and surrounding sites in the Retford, Newark and Mansfield area. The services are mixed gender and provide residential care for individuals with autism and severe learning disabilities which are often accompanied by complex needs and challenging behaviour. We understand that consistency and continuity of care is important for the people we care for.

Community integration is a vital aspect of our individualised programmes. Close to some of these sites there are local amenities such as shops, public transport and leisure facilities which are encompassed as part of residents’ daily life. With the right blend of therapy and the environment we help our residents to develop daily living skills and become valued members of the local community. Our aim is to maximise individuals’ independence and confidence. ASDAN programmes and qualifications are also available.

In this role you will:

• Work independently on a day-to-day basis. Your work will be guided by a plan and objectives that are agreed and reviewed by a qualified Psychologist
• Support qualified Psychologists in their day-to-day tasks. Duties will range from helping them to deliver clinical services – such as psychological assessments and interventions - to governance and administrative activities, and assisting with aspects of report writing and project development
• Undertake assessments of relevant psychological characteristics
• Work alongside other members of the multidisciplinary team to include Occupational Therapists and Speech and Language Therapists

We're looking for people who have:

• A good level degree in Psychology (BA or BSc)
• British Psychological Society (BPS) Graduate Membership
• Some experience within the healthcare sector
• UK Driving Licence and access to own vehicle is essential as travel to other services will be required
• Experience within an autism / learning disability setting is preferred
• A Psychology Masters Qualification (or equivalent) is desirable
• Previous experience in a paid/voluntary Assistant Psychologist role is desirable
• A passion for learning and working as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Good communication skills
