Cambian Group, the UK’s largest provider of specialist services in education, mental health rehabilitation, Children’s Services, and Learning Disabilities, are looking for a dedicated, caring individual to join the company as an Assistant Psychologist. Preferably, we would look for someone who has previous experience as an Assistant Psychologist in a child and adolescent mental health setting although this is desirable, it is not a requirement.
Cambian Willows is a Tier-4 assessment and treatment inpatient service for children and young people between the ages of 12 and 18, who are experiencing mental health difficulties.
We are seeking an academically strong candidate to support and enhance the psychological care of clients within Cambian Healthcare by assisting the Qualified Psychologist in the delivery and evaluation of cost effective services that meet Cambian Healthcare objectives, national strategic and policy guidelines, commissioner requirements and user and carer needs and expectations. To thereby help understand, prevent and ameliorate psychological distress and disorder and improve mental health and wellbeing of young people and work as part of a team. The role involves the administration, scoring and report writing of psychometric assessments, standardised risk assessments, clinical formulation, delivering staff training, and supervised individual and group interventions.
You will be learning all the time through our on-going mentoring and support. Clinical supervision is an important part of development and additional training will be supported.
You will be a strong team player, confident, motivated and well organised. You will have a good understanding of the role of therapeutic boundaries and the importance of evidence-based interventions. Patience and commitment are essential, but above all you’ll be someone with a genuine desire to help others. We are looking for someone with a good degree in Psychology and preferably previous experience within an Assistant Psychologist role.
Qualifactions and Experience Required
BSc degree in Psychology 1st class or upper 2:1
Graduate membership with the British Psychological Society (BPS)
Experience, voluntary or paid, in working with vulnerable persons
A desirable quality would be previous experience of working in a clinical setting with children and adolescents
Full UK Driving Licence
