Applicants are invited to apply for the Assistant Planner / Coordinator vacancy within the Planning Operations Department, based at Marine Terminals Limited, Dublin.
Role Purpose: To assist the planning team to ensure the safe and efficient planning operation of container ships and transport deliveries within the Terminal, ensuring operations run efficiently. Guarantee that all containers are discharged and loaded in a safe, undamaged and proper manner.
The Assistant Planner / Coordinator role will include the following responsibilities:
-Book containers into the system and input all relevant information into the container yard system
-Locate containers and liaise with crane drivers for receival and redelivery of containers and control the productivity of traffic flow for imports and export
-Ensure all damage, incidents, near incidents or accidents are reported to management immediately
-Guarantee the efficient day to day movement, loading and discharge of containers within the terminal using a two-way radio system and the container yard planning system
-Maintain close liaison and co-operation with all other departments, affiliates and personnel within the company in order to optimise the terminal operations
-Interact with shipping agents and lines to ensure a quality, fast and efficient service
-Liaise with the maintenance department with regard to any breakdowns, faults or defects of all plant and machinery
-Ensure that the stowage matches the actual load list and mismatch reports are forwarded to the vessel shipping agent
Applicants interested in this role should ideally possess the following skills and experience:
-Proven experience of container stowage and ship stability
-Competent PC skills and understanding of computer systems, in particular yard planning systems and Microsoft Office
-A full, valid Driving Licence is desired
-Knowledge and understanding of the IMDG code and other National Port Regulations
-Container Yard Planning and Operations qualification or equivalent, or proven experience
-Self-motivated and driven to succeed, holding a positive and professional attitude within the work place environment
-Leaving Certificate or equivalent qualification is essential
-Familiarity and understanding of vessels container operation systems
