Gain and apply knowledge of technical matters
Ensure compliance with company procedures when completing cases
Keep up to date with changes in legislation
Be aware of the statutory increases that need to be applied to deferred pensions
Be aware of the key requirements of disclosure including deadlines.
Gain and apply knowledge of clients through day to day work
Be aware of what is scheme specific and not necessarily applicable for all schemes
Be able to do benefit calculations either by a manual calculation or using a proforma and by using the relevant pensions administration system calculation
Able to work through the relevant checklist for each individual case and follow procedures
Able to draft non-standard letters where required
Able to run bulk calculations on the pension’s administration system
Capable of preparing bulk mailings (e.g. certificate of existence, annual newsletters)
Understand that appropriate authorisation needs to be received before releasing information
Prepare standard letters using the UV merge process.
Able to use the Standard Reports and General Report Writer functions on the pensions administration system
Previous proven pension experience in defined benefits is essential
Working towards completing the Qualification in Pensions Administration
Undertaking the relevant training courses and subsequent exams in order to gain the Award in Pensions Essentials (APE) and the Certificate in Pensions Essentials (CPE)
Have an understanding of preservation, contracting-out (including GMPs) and the current Pensions tax regime
Be aware of the Data Protection Act requirements

Mon - Fri, 9:30 - 5:30 (flexibility required)
