An exciting International Assistant Merchandiser opportunity has arisen within our China team here at New Look in our Central London head office. As an Assistant Merchandiser your key responsibilities will be to support the Merchandiser in the smooth running of the market as well as maximising sales opportunities and profit potential whilst minimising markdown spend. You will also have responsibility for daily figure analysis, future sales, and range planning, as well as communicating closely with the local market team in line with the critical path.
As International Assistant Merchandiser - China YOU'LL GIVE:
Trading:- Review performance by market, store level weekly. Undertake adhoc analysis of performance and report back to the merchandiser with your findings. Make trading suggestions ensuring you are maximising sales and profit.
Stock:- Monitor stock commitment and intake phasing in weekly meetings, advise your Merchandiser of any actions taken. Review actual v planned stock levels, taking appropriate action to ensure targets are kept.
Profit:- Review and monitor markdown and promotional spend. Complete lessons learnt analysis, end of month, end of quarter, end of half. Ensure BIMU target is met and highlight any issues to the Merchandiser and local market team.
WSSI:- Support Merchandiser with sales stock and OTB forecasting. Review and manage line monitors, feeding back solutions to any over/under stock issues, to ensure smooth running on continuity lines.
Range Planning:- Ability to identify market specific trends and implement them in the quickest way. Using current/future sales information to create a balanced and commercial product offer with the local market team.
Communication:- Develop a close working relationship with key functions; BMD, Marketing, VM, Logistics and Supply Chain. Use influencing skills to ensure the best outcome for their local market.
Line Management:- Responsible for the training and development of MAA. Acting as a positive role model for the team and peers.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
You need a proactive approach to problem solving
Be highly analytical
Possess sound commercial acumen and a genuine interest in the retail market both UK and internationally
Strong interpersonal skills, flexibility and enthusiasm are also essential to succeed in this role, as is the ability to work to strict deadlines
