As an assistant manager in a local accountancy practice with a minimum of 5 year's personal tax work, you're keeping an eye on what else is out there, for whatever reasons you have, and they don't come up often in the Huntingdon area.
You might be reassured that a lack of tax qualifications is not a barrier to entry for this post. It's your technical ability that's key, along with your flexibility in your approach to work as you will be travelling regularly into Cambridge. And if you're wanting to study CTA, then great, you're going to get support here.
You will be managing a varied portfolio of private tax clients including high net worth individuals, families, business owners, company directors, land and property owners, entrepreneurs, retirees and family trusts. You'll be dealing with a variety of personal tax matters so your experience within this area needs to be very solid and recent.
The firm you'll be working for is award winning, well established and supportive of you and your career. They pay well (although we have been asked for reasons of confidentiality to only disclose the salary on a need to know basis at this stage). Benefits are plentiful and include 31 days annual leave including bank holidays, a salary sacrifice scheme to buy more leave or additional pension contributions or childcare vouchers. You'll also be a member of a group life scheme, private health insurance, BUPA membership and a generous sick pay package. There is a pension scheme available from one month of joining and a bonus scheme. Plus free on-site parking. Hours are 37.5 per week and they’ll support you in your CTA tax exams or ACA/ACCA if that’s the route you wish to go.
