Main Purpose of Role

Ensure the delivery of accurate tax accounting, including all monthly, quarterly and annual submissions in the UK, SAR and AUS working with external experts where applicable. Subject matter expert in all group accounting reporting tools and requirements. UK fixed asset accountant.

Key Accountabilities

  • The preparation of all monthly, quarterly and annual tax submissions, including VAT (UK, SAR, AUS & Principal), Intrastats (UK & Principal), payroll tax reconciliation, annual corporation tax submissions (UK, SAR, AUS);

  • Liaison with group tax accounting teams including TP arrangements;

  • To support in the development and delivery of financial reports to local managers;

  • To provide external reporting to our agency partners and ensure comprehensive analysis is available to backup periodic invoicing;

  • To support other Financial Controller(s) in the development of risk management processes and procedures as and when required, particularly focusing on financial risks;

  • To be active in the involvement of financial control including balance sheet reconciliations and cost/budget control;

  • To undertake other reasonable tasks as deemed necessary by the Financial Controller;

  • To share knowledge and train/coach other members of the department/team;

Education and Qualifications

    • Member of appropriate professional accounting body (ACA / CIMA / ACCA / CTA)

    • Qualified tax accountant or training towards such qualification;

    • Degree level education;

    • Alternatively relevant experience.

Skills and Knowledge

  • Highly organised with the ability to work under pressure and to meet strict deadlines;

  • Analytical and problem solving skills;

  • Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy in preparing and entering financial information with good attention to detail;

  • Abreast of UK financial reporting and tax requirements;

  • Able to investigate all new tax challenges through appropriate channels;

  • Able to develop internal financial policies to ensure compliance with tax accounting requirements are embedded within them;

  • Local expert in fixed asset module of DAX;
