Temporary Assistant Finance Business Partner

Venn Group is supporting a Local Authority in Hertfordshire with their recruitment of a temporary Assistant Finance Business Partner on a six-month contract to start as soon as possible.

Your duties will include:

  • Supporting the Finance Business Partner, providing financial advice and guidance regarding budget monitoring/setting within a Local Authority

  • Providing unit cost modelling and budgetary advice for a number of areas with monthly monitoring reports and costing analysis

  • Delivering professional and expert accounting and technical service for the revenue, holding and control accounts relating to the Business Unit

  • Identifying unit costs and monitoring the bottom line for commercial areas of the business, suggesting appropriate course of action to mitigate any losses

  • Responsible for monitoring budgets and providing budget reports on a monthly basis

The successful candidate must have:

  • Previous working experience for a Local Authority/Council

  • Worked as a Management Accountant, Assistant Finance Business Partner or similar

  • Knowledge of Housing Revenue Accounts (HRA)
