Arcadis are looking for an Assistant Driller (aka “Second-man”) based in our Newmarket Depot. Join our team to support the growth of our Drilling capability and we’ll make sure you get the experience and personalised learning support you need to take your career as far as you want it to go

Overview of Role:

The position would involve working alongside our Lead Drillers on projects throughout the UK. The projects are across a variety of sites and sectors including manufacturing, petrochemical and construction environments.

We are looking for ambitious, hardworking and dedicated individuals with a desire to learn and work outdoors, to act as Assistant Drillers on our range of drilling equipment (rotary drilling, dynamic/windowless sampling) with supporting duties around in-situ testing, sampling and health and safety stewardship. This position is open to experienced individuals in land drilling operations or someone looking to start a career in the industry as full training will be provided for working towards an NVQ in Land Drilling.

What You have to Offer:

  • A full, clean driving licence (Category B) is essential, preferably supplemented with Category B+E, C1+E, or C entitlement.
  • The following competencies/accreditations would be beneficial: CSCS, SPA/PIA, Personal Track Safety (PTS). The required training will be provided in any event.
  • The position will involve working away throughout the week with accommodation and subsistence provided.
  • Please note that although the majority of work will be away, daily commuting to Avonmouth may be required at times; therefore, the successful candidate will reside within a reasonable commute from the depot.
