Assistant Distribution Manager
Monday to Friday (4:45am - Finish)
We're recruiting for an exciting new role - Assistant Transport Manager!
Our client who's product range is focused on delicious British and Continental cheeses, a wide selection of olives, plus fantastic cured meats, other chef's goods and amazing dessert chocolate are looking to recruit an Assistant Transport Manager!
The successful candidate will need to be a good problem solver, highly motivated, enthusiastic, flexible and have excellent communication skills.
Training will be given in all other areas.
Position may suit those with transport, food, or sales backgrounds.
Responsibilities and Duties
*Communicate despatch and debrief information.
*Manage small team of drivers and ensure the team carry out compliance requirements.
*Arrange agency cover as required.
*Cover driver duties on holiday and sickness.
*Manage and maintain distribution site office and warehouse space.
*Work closely with the Regional Sales Manager and assist in developing local area sales.
*Develop good working relationships with customers and staff.
*Ensure team maintains high standards of hygiene, safety and personal appearance.
*Complete daily admin duties to ensure transport compliance.
*Carry out other reasonable requests as directed from line managers.
Qualifications and Skills
*Basic computer skills
*Excellent communication and organisation skills
*Clean drivers licence is preferred
*Supervisor experience desirable but not essential.
