Assistant Designer (Publishing)

An academic publisher based in Oxford is looking for temporary support within their design team. You will be working on a migration project from one platform to another as well as image manipulation, relayering and resizing and some asset creation. This is a temp role to start immediately for 3-6 months.

Key duties:

  • Manage the migration of content from one platform to another
  • Provide creative design concepts and branding solutions for allocated projects, ensuring appropriate quality of print and digital products, in order to reinforce the company’s position as market leader
  • Resize, relayer and retouch images
  • Design new assets (mostly digital and some print)

Experience / skills required:

  • Degree in Design or equivalent
  • Advanced knowledge of Macintosh systems and advanced-level knowledge of core design software (Adobe CC)
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong eye for design
  • Experience in creating digital product and an understanding of XML, HTML5, CSS preferable
  • Design experience within publishing is desirable
