Pertemps Managed Solutions are currently recruiting on behalf of one the UK's largest utilities companies who are looking to hire an Assistant Contracts Manager

What is the purpose of the role?

We are currently seeking two driven Assistant contracts manager forming part of the wider Commercial team, to manage a suite of operational framework agreements, assure compliance and use your initiative & tenacity to deliver results. You will be responsible for the supplier-client experience in your designated division of either Wastewater or Water, for a portfolio of contracts, totalling circa £20m. Working closely with the Contracts manager, you will ensure both the business and our suppliers have an effective & long-lasting relationship to enable effective service delivery and encourage continuous improvement & innovation. You will drive value & innovation, provide cost-effective solutions and monitor our supplier's performance to ensure they deliver in line with their agreements.

What will this role involve?

Assist and or manage overall contracts and help to resolve any commercial issues, minimising their impact for the business and its customers.

Support the management of contractual arrangements including the performance of suppliers, highlighting any areas of risk or opportunity.

Support contract amendments with Contract Manager as appropriate (Novation's, Price, Scope etc.) to reflect agreed changes.

Contribute to the development and ongoing upkeep of category plans which accurately reflect the current and potential future business requirements.

Support/facilitate contractual reviews with suppliers as appropriate.

Agree required training and development needs to enable progression to a Contract Manager Work with Procurement, Legal and, Health & Safety on behalf of the business in relation to Contracts, building and maintaining appropriate stakeholder relationships internal and external to maximise benefit.

Help maximise contract performance using challenge and innovation, taking appropriate risks, rewarding performance where necessary, and forming effective and professional relationships with suppliers.

Support and maintain a repository of all contract documentation and maintain these to appropriate levels of quality and accuracy using the required tools/techniques that are available.

What are we looking for?

Do you have previous exposure to contract management?

Do you possess strong experience of managing ongoing relationships with service providers? If the answer is yes, look no further!

We are seeking a passionate & engaging individual with a background in an operational or industrial environment.

You will have great attention to detail, good influencing skills and an ability to communicate / translate information to key stakeholders at all levels.

You will be commercially astute with confident financial analysis skills and be able to manage conflicting priorities.

You will have a good understanding of basic negotiation process, tools & techniques and can apply practically with support.
