Assistant Buyer |SME |Derby | £25,000 - £30,000 + CIPS Funding

Are you the organised, proactive type? The kind of person that's coming up with solutions to problems that haven't even become problems yet? If so, I want to speak to you about a fantastic opportunity with a manufacturing business in Derby who are looking for an assistant buyer. You will be working as part of a small team to manage the supply and demand of production-critical components to keep manufacture going. If you're the kind of person who's not satisfied with anything less than 100% OTIF, we need to talk.

Your key responsibility will be to manage the flow of two key materials into the business, ensuring that there is an adequate supply of parts to keep production moving. This will involve forecasting, inventory management, procurement and supplier management.

It's essential that you are a strong MRP user. We don't need experience in a particular system, but a strong systems head will be essential to doing a good job.

The final essential component is a flexible approach to stakeholder management - you will need to be able to effectively manage and communicate with a range of personalities including production and warehouse staff, through to foreign suppliers. Being able to build rapport, establish a relationship and work together effectively.

If you've got buying / planning experience in a manufacturing environment and are a proficient MRP user, I'd like to hear from you. Our client can teach you and develop the skills you need provided you've got the proactive, solutions focussed attitude required for the job. If that's you, get in touch.

Why this opportunity?

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to work as part of a small, close-knit team to develop their procurement experience in a really fulfilling supportive environment. This is a big company, that works like a small company with all the benefits that brings.

Our client is happy to fund your professional development via funding your CIPS training and has a long-term progression plan to see you develop into an international procurement role.

The Offer:

£25,000 to £30,000 basic salary
CIPS funding
25 days holiday + 8 Bank Holiday
15:45 finish on Fridays

If this sounds like a bit of you, then please get in touch, email me your CV and salary expectations or give me a call on . Let's start the conversation and let's see if we can find you your dream move. I'm looking forward to speaking to you.
