We are delighted to be working with an established and successful organisation based locally in Peterborough.
We are looking to recruit an Assistant Buyer to provide full support to the Buyer in a very busy team and department.
Duties will involve :
- Assisting in delivering the budgeted sales and margin targets
- Assisting creating and maintaining range plans
- Demonstrating clear and thorough understanding of the customer proposals and market place
- Demonstrating an understanding cost of goods and net profitability of the category
- Developing supplier relationships
- Assisting with producing presentations
- Gathering market and customer information for meetings
- Requesting product samples and information about products
- Producing reports
- Ensuring effective communication clear strategies
- Providing product information and analysis as requested by the Buyer.
- Pro actively liaise with merchandising to ensure the delivery of stock and sales targets.
- Completing all administration and follow-up including filing
- Updating and maintaining internal systems
We are looking for:
- Previous experience in Buying
- Graduate calibre candidates who are highly numerate with strong analytical skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Excellent IT Skills including Excel
- Strong communication skills both written and verbal.
- Ability to plan, prioritise and focus
