Assistant Buyer

My client based in Salford, Manchester are looking for an Assistant Buyer to join them on a permanent, full time basis.

This is a brilliant opportunity to join a global brand with a clear and impressive progression route within the business. As the Assistant Buyer you will have responsibility to assist in the day-to-day purchasing activities of raw materials, consumables and engineering components.

Duties:

  • Purchasing administration
  • Expediting of purchase orders
  • Raising purchase orders
  • Filing, scanning and archiving
  • Support the purchasing manager with entry of purchase orders
  • Liaise with suppliers on a daily basis via email or phone
  • Liaising with stores and assisting with goods in if necessary
  • Partaking in stock checks and annual stock take
  • Reviews of safety stock and non-stock consumable products
  • Ensure all supplier contact details are correct and up to date
  • Maintain purchasing inbox

Ideal candidate:

  • 2 years experience working within an administration role is essential
  • Working within a manufacturing company and/or a purchasing role is desirable
  • Able to work independently
  • Wanting career progression

Hours & Salary:

  • Flex hours - 37.5 hour working week. Start times can be from 7:30AM to 9AM depending on what you prefer
  • 24 hours holiday + 4 days bank
  • £18,000 - £20000 depending on experience
