Position: Assistant Buyer
Customer: NHS SC
Contract Type: Fixed Term Contract (6 Months)

As a Assistant Buyer you will be responsible for the day to day management of a range of non-strategic contracts to ensure that operational procurement demands are managed effectively allowing overall business targets to be achieved
Key Responsibilities in this role will include;
Manage end to end quotation process for category, working closely with customer and supplier to track projects through to conclusion
Issue URN information with supporting contracts to customer and supplier
Update tracker documentation as per order profiling requirements
Deliver reporting documents to support supplier meetings
Operational management of suppliers for non-strategic contracts
To work with marketing to deliver all appropriate information onto the website.
To ensure that all bulk deal flyers are correct and available to the external account managers
Manage the key supplier relationships for non-strategic contracts including sales reporting
Manage the operational bulk deal activity with the NHS Supply Chain DoH team
Work with the capital planners to ensure they understand the category and channel is promoted
Working with the buyer(s) to understand the contracts used and to understand the tracker reporting
To gain a full understanding of the OJEU process and what can be applied to the relevant category
To support buyer(s) in identifying continuous development opportunities for the category's operational management
To deliver a compliant set of reports that deliver value added services to the suppliers and the business
To raise any invoices due to suppliers.
Key skills and experience in this role will include:
IT literate and capable of proficiency in MS Office applications
Comfortable working independently or as part of a team
Self motivation and excellent organisational skills
Good inter-personal skills
Persuasion and influencing skills
Confident communicator at all levels
Analytical, problem-solving skills
Persuading, influencing and negotiating skills
Ability to develop and maintain range of relationships
Good administrative experience and able to manage multiple tasks
Experience working in a busy office environment.
