Assistant Branch Manager - Timber / Builders Merchant

Our client is a long established construction materials supplier with a number of branches throughout the Greater London area. As part of their continuing growth, they are now seeking an Assistant Branch Manager to join their team.
This is a superb opportunity for a manager from a timber and builders merchant background looking to play a key role within a progressive, family-owned business.

As the Assistant Branch Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the smooth running of our client’s Ashford branch, managing staff and dealing with customer queries in a professional manner.
An integral part of your role will involve ensuring that all health and safety procedures are followed and kept up to date.
You will assist customers with their queries and requirements for timber and building supplies, as well as processing orders and providing a high level of service.
Helping to load materials onto customers’ vehicles, you will produce sales tickets and correctly book these items onto customer accounts. You’ll arrange deliveries and ensure that the correct goods are sent out via the delivery vehicles.
You will ensure the welcoming of all customers is done in a polite and pleasant manner. Additionally, you’ll oversee with stocktaking activities, replenish stock levels and maintain the appearance of the sales area.
To be considered for this role, you must have hands-on management experience gained within a timber and builders merchant environment.
As the Assistant Branch Manager, you must have excellent communication, planning and leadership skills, as well as a decisive and driven approach.
A forklift licence would be beneficial to your application, but is by no means essential.
