Salford Quays
£20,000 - £30,000, bonus plus package
A leading social housing contractor with multiple offices around the North West are currently looking for an Assistant Architectural Technician / Assistant Design Coordinator for their Salford Quays office in assist in regeneration schemes in the region.
Role of Assistant Architectural Technician
" To assist the Design Coordinators and Design Managers with the management of all technical and design aspects of a scheme, including working with external consultants, internal team members and design standards/specifications.
" When required, manage individual schemes to coordinate all technical information between external consultants and internal departments as required for the successful delivery of the scheme.
" To ensure the timely processing and management of information relating to a scheme or schemes. This includes obtaining approvals, processing information in accordance with internal procedures, processing information to meet Client requirements and managing/coordinating information between Consultants.
" To produce IRS, design trackers and information trackers applicable for the management of information on a scheme, and then monitor/manage these trackers to ensure they are up to date.
" Process all information applicable for the project to meet the programme requirements of a scheme and the start on site date and key milestones.
" To understand, implement and adhere to the company SHEQ policy/strategy.

Planning & Design
" Compile information requirement schedules and manage drawing registration and distribution.
" Carry out value engineering, CDM and buildability checks on drawings.
" Be innovative in approach during design process.
" Attend and minute where required all design team meetings.
" Manage the issue of information to subcontractors and suppliers as required.
" Assist with co-ordination of Code for Sustainable Homes and BREEAM Assessments and related information incl. SAPs, SBEM Calc & EPC`s.
" Request & Manage Statutory Authorities proposals - collate existing information, produce constraints plan, send out for new proposals & quotes, meter registration and Site Temporary supplies.
" Attend Key Pre Start meetings - especially for Sub Contractors & Suppliers with Design involvement.
Skills & experience required
To be considered the role of Assistant Architectural Technician / Assistant Design Coordinator you will need to have the following:
" Previous experience within development in a new build environment
" HNC or above in an architectural or design based discipline
" Up to date with current building legislation and Health & Safety legislation
" Strong knowledge of Local Authorities
" Prepared for occasional site travel - full driving licence required
" Well organised and able to work independently as well as in a team
