Assistant Accountant

We are looking for an exceptional assistant accountant to work with our current team to help Missguided develop and expand further.  The ideal assistant accountant is someone who can add innovative ideas, experience, energy and enthusiasm into the mix.  The successful candidate will need to enjoy and thrive from working in a fast-paced environment and work well under pressure.

Purpose of an Assistant Accountant:

The role will work closely with existing members of the function taking over responsibility for the Wholesale area of our business.  The role will work across core accounting and commercial finance.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities of an Assistant Accountant:

Core Accounting:

  • Full responsibility for the wholesale Profit & Loss
  • Reporting of monthly results for wholesale division, including variance analysis to forecasts
  • Sales and future forecast reporting
  • Full control of management accounting for the wholesale business
  • Reconciliation of billings to despatches
  • Ensuring the system is working as designed, suggesting improvements where possible
  • Working closely with the Wholesale team on margin management, other aspects of the wholesale business

Commercial Finance

  • Commercial analysis of the Wholesale division
  • Daily/weekly reporting for the Ecommerce/Retail division
  • Other adhoc commercial reporting as required
  • Adhoc assistance where required
Skills, Experience and Qualifications of an Assistant Accountant:
  • CIMA/ACCA Part Qualified
  • Recent experience of working in a management accounts role
  • Advanced excel skills with the capability to manipulate large volumes of data
  • Experience of working in a fast paced, changeable finance environment
  • Experience working with SAP
  • Recent knowledge of working in the FMCG/Retail Industry
  • Have excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Incredible attention to detail
