Orka Financial is working with a Global technology business based just outside of Maidenhead to recruit an assistant accountant role. The assistant accountant position will be a broad role taking in duties across the finance function and would be perfect for somebody studying towards an accounting qualification or an experienced individual looking to develop their skills further.
The assistant accountant will work with the Financial Controller and Finance Director in the day to day running of a busy finance department within this global tech business. They will also work closely with Service Delivery Directors, Managers and employees across the company. Covering UK, Belgium, Denmark, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, Sweden and Switzerland. It is a multi-currency environment.


Invoicing & Receivable
• Raise customer invoices for all European countries
• Submit sales invoices into various web based systems and accounting system
• Ensure invoices and accruals are posted to the ledger
• Produce monthly aged debtors report on excel for management
• Monitor cash collection and initiate action when issues arise - update ageing report realtime
• Liaise with sales managers when purchase order issues arise.

• Raise intercompany invoices and distribute to all entities
• Input intercompany invoices onto our accounting system
• Intercompany account reconciliation to be completed 'real time’ at month end

Accounts Payable
• Check, code and enter all invoices onto Oracle and obtain the appropriate approvals
• Prepare invoice batches for payment
• Check supplier statements and deal promptly with supplier queries
• European invoices
o Ensure the appropriate approvals are obtained and liaise with the European accounts to ensure they are allocated to the correct entity
o Ensure intercompany invoices are raised for any charges incurred by one entity for another
o Check vehicle hire invoices are correct before authorising for payment

Employee Expenses
Checking and payment of employee expenses
Deal promptly with any related queries


• Previous experience in an accounting environment necessary

• Able to communicate at all levels


£23,000 - £27,000 + study support + benefits
