As an Assistant Accountant at Squire Patton Boggs, you’ll be joining a close knit Management Accounts team, splitting your time between support to Partner accounts, expense analysis and reconciliations. We’re looking for an experienced and knowledgeable individual to join a hardworking yet fun and social Finance team, who will enjoy a truly collaborative environment.
Our Finance team in Leeds is a large team made up of Management Accounts, Accounts Payable, Database and Billing, Credit Control and Client and Office Accounts. The team provide centralised support for all of the UK offices and take pride in providing a world class service to the firm’s internal and external clients.
You will have exposure to a number of different business areas, working closely with the wider finance team to undertake a variety of tasks and build lasting relationships with key stakeholders across the international firm.
A keen eye for detail and evidence of building successful relationships is a must! You will act as a key point of support to Partners within the firm on a range of activities including: administration support during distribution of profit share, supporting the provision of personal drawings calculations within the policies of the firm, involvement in the year-end audit process and preparation of the statutory accounts. You’ll also support Partners with administrative aspects of their partner status with the Firm e.g. mortgage applications and administration of partners’ tax reserves.
From a day-to-day perspective, you’ll take ownership of improving the quality of expenses information captured in the financial systems for the UK LLP Group. Through in-depth analysis and working closely with the Accounts Payable team, you’ll aim to streamline the current process with an end goal of minimising tax disallowables.
To be considered for this position you must have extensive experience working in a similar role within a finance environment. Prior experience or understanding of an LLP or the structure of law firms would be an advantage.
This role demands an experienced and skilled individual to compliment the finance team, an individual who has strong influencing skills and who has confidence in their ability to work with and advise Partners, auditors and other members of the global finance team.
You will be technically savvy with previous experience of using general ledger and Microsoft packages. You’ll also be a self-starter who has a keen eye for detail. Most importantly you must be a people person; someone who is quickly going to become part of the team and will enjoy working in a challenging yet extremely rewarding environment.
