A highly experienced Construction company is looking for an Assistant Accountant to join their team on a full time permanent basis.

Job Details

Full Time
Monday – Friday 9-5.30
Free Parking on site
28 days holiday (Inc BH) plus 3 extra days between Christmas and New Year
Auto enrolment (pension scheme)

Key Responsibilities

• Preparation of month end management accounts
• Posting of accruals and prepayments
• Preparation of VAT Returns and other VAT related matter
• Inter-company reconciliations
• Cash flow forecasts / Cash targets
• To prepare and populate all month end schedules
• Direct internal and external audits to ensure compliance
• Assisting senior management in preparing and reviewing budgets
• Prepare and process weekly and monthly payroll- this includes analysing and matching contractor time sheets with invoices and processing them through to the payroll system.
• Raising Invoices
• Carry out bookkeeping exercises including journal entries, bank reconciliations, Inter-company schedules, revenue and expense, accruals and variance analyses
• Supporting the Senior Accountant in any other ad hoc duties

Key Skills and Attributes

• At least 5+ years work experience in a similar role
• Possess absolute levels of honesty and integrity
• Attention to detail
• Be highly self-motivated with a can-do attitude.
• The ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines is essential
• Clear and confident communication techniques and ability to feedback to all members of staff
• Excel skills (pivot tables, look-ups)
• Strong organisational and time management skills
• COINS experience (desirable but not essential)
