Asset Surveyor

Our client, a leading provider of extra care and affordable housing, is looking for further support in the form of a temporary Planned Surveyor's to join their existing team.

The role will involve managing and supporting effective capital investment, cyclical and statutory maintenance service, to time and budget, in line with legislation, policy, capital programme and strategic objectives.

Core responsibilities
- Taking account of the long term maintenance needs of the Organisation's assets, develop works programmes (in conjunction with the other departments in the business), to address the risk and long term maintenance needs of the stock including commissioning and managing specialist surveys
- To act as lead consultant on a range of projects
- Prepare designs, specifications, drawings and contract documents associated with a range of projects, including major housing refurbishment contracts
- Carry out comprehensive stock condition/energy surveys as required to manage Gentoo's assets including Decent Homes Standard, HHSRS surveys and prepare associated reports
- Ensure that all statutory obligations are fulfilled including Planning, Building Control and all Health and Safety Legislation
- Carrying out high quality surveys of the Group stock and provide technical advice and support on condition and investment requirements
- Undertake or manage diagnostic surveys of property defects to identify solutions, define and quantify the extent of the issue identified, and develop specifications for remedial works

To be considered for this role in brief you will need:

- At least 3 years post qualification experience
- Experience of preparing tender documentation, reporting on tenders
- Experience of managing contractors
- To be a member of CIAT, RICS, CIOB or other similar approved professional body
- To be able to understand technical drawings
- To be able to diagnose building defects and specify remedies
- To be able to estimate construction, refurbishment and maintenance costs
- Contract programming skills
- A knowledge of contract law and contract administration
- Knowledge of health and safety legislation and best practice

These roles will be for a minimum of three months while we recruit on a permanent basis.
